Similarly, flats in London have smaller appliances than Americans are used to have in America. The British are unable to fit giant freezers and fridges into their apartments, so they tend to choose mini-fridges with one-shelf freezer compartment in it. Dishwashers are not typical too, because all-in-one washer/dryers are space savers indeed and a popular choice.
In other words, looking for a house in London you should expect everything to be a bit smaller than your spacious living arrangements in the USA.
